Dr. Hapeman was our neighbor on Veteran Hill Road when I was a kid growing up in the 60s and 70s. He let us use the trampoline whenever we wanted. He watched me try to learn the back flip and when I finally got it right, he applauded me from the house. I also did some yard work for him, fed the horses, and some painting. Domino, I believe was one of his older horses name. There was a red haired one and a tan one also but I cant remember their names now. My Grandmother asked him to look at my sprained ankle a couple times and he was nice enough to come by our home. He was a good man.

I had occasions to visit Don Hapemen as a ministering brother. He was quiet in church settings, yet noticeable due to his large stature. I so admired his reverence stance, an example to all. Yet at home he was fun loving, intelligent, and enjoyable to be with. Such a loss. Until we meet again!

One of our favorite memories of Grandpa Hapeman is when he told the joke .. "Can you guess how much this painting (of two deer) is?" ..... Two Bucks :)
Thank you Grandpa for your humor and love. We will miss you.
Love,
Todd, Jess, Justin, Dylan and Betty

I have know Doc since I was a little kid. My grandparents, The McDermott's lived in the apt above his practice. He was a good friend to them! Later in life, Doc married my daughter's grandmother (Ruth) and once again he became a part of our lives. Your sense of humor, your smile and your hugs I will remember forever! Rest in Peace Doc. Until we meet again.

First met Dr.Don in July 1956. He kept me going in good health from his office or home.. Don had me do an oil painting called “ A picture of a pitcher , pitching a pitcher “
He kept me out of the hospital. Loved him and miss him.
God bless you Donna for helping others
