Obituary of David Lloyd Schad

SCHAD , DAVID LLOYD Age 70 of Akron , NY passed away on Thursday March 6 , 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer due to his exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam. David was born January 25 , 1944 in Akron , NY the son of the late Lloyd and Ida Ralph Schad . He was also pre-deceased by his daughters Lisa Schad and Laura Anne Schad as well as his grandson Christopher Schad and by his siblings Dorothy Higgins, James , & Mary Lou Boring. David was a decorated Vietnam Veteran serving his country with The U.S. Army . He received many honors including two Purple Hearts while serving in Vietnam . David was a Life Member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 3180 and a 32 year member of LL Tillman American Legion Post # 900. He worked for Northeast Caisson Inc. in Akron , NY with over 40 years of dedicated service. David married his wife Carolyn Ann Miller Schad on January 1 , 1996 and they recently celebrated their 18th Wedding Anniversary on January 1 , 2014. David loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. David will be greatly missed by those that knew him ! David is survived by his loving and devoted wife Carolyn Ann Miller Schad ; son : David Lloyd Schad Jr. ; step children : Roberta Spoth , Kelly Sheehan Murray , and C J Webster ; grandchildren : Jennifer Schad , David L. Schad III , Beaudin Schad , and Jackalynn Baldwin ; step grandchildren : Travis Bull , Tristan Spoth , Valencia Spoth , Ethan Webster , Lennon Conti , Mara Jade Webster ; surrogate grandchildren : Casey , Margaret , and Michael Middaugh ; special nieces and nephews : Janice Barbati , Susie LaMantia , Scott Boring , and Mickie Ritenour ; several additional nieces , nephews , cousins , great nieces and great nephews and a great great niece. David is also survived by a wonderful family of caring and loving friends . Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service celebrating David's Life on Saturday March 22 , 2014 at 3 PM at The First United Methodist Church of Akron 7 Church Street Akron , NY . Immediately following please join us at The LL Tillman American Legion Post # 900 9 Eckerson Ave. Akron , NY to celebrate David's Life.
