Obituary of Norman William Pease

Norman William Pease age 96 of Big Flats, NY passed away on Thursday June 1, 2022. Norman was born in the Town of Catlin, NY on February 10, 1926 the son of the late Elsworth and Hazel Forest Pease. He was a Veteran of World War II serving his country with The U.S. Army Air Corps attaining the rank of Sergeant. Norman married his wife, Madeline Benjamin Pease on September 28, 1947 and they would have celebrated their 75th Wedding Anniversary this September. Norman retired from Moore Business Forms after 30 years of service. He served on several Boards of Directors during his lifetime. He joined the Big Flats Fire Department in 1949 and served as a Lieutenant and Commissioner and leaving the Fire Department as a lifetime member. Norman was pre-deceased by his parents, his brother Robert Pease, and his sister Mary Pease Wenzel. Norman enjoyed his lifelong hobbies of hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He and Madeline belonged to numerous camping clubs in the area and traveled throughout The United States. Norman is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 75 years Madeline; daughter: Joan Pease and Family of Lorton, VA; son and daughter-in-law: Gerald and Joanne Pease of Keuka Lake, NY; grandchildren: Jennifer Scheetz of Falling Waters, West Virginia and Dr. Jack Keefe of New York, NY; great grandchildren: Colin and Ian Scheetz; several nieces , nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Saturday June 4, 2022 from 4 PM to 5:30 PM. Mr. Pease's Funeral Services and Fire Department services will be held at the conclusion of Calling Hours. Norman will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, NY at the convenience of the family.
