Obituary of Charles Emmett Coleman
Charles E. "Chip" Coleman age 66 of Whitney, PA formerly of Horseheads, NY passed away on Monday June 13, 2022. Chip was born August 17, 1955 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Elbert Ralph Coleman Sr. and Vina Eugenia Cornell Coleman. He was a graduate of Horseheads High School Class of 1973 and Corning Community College. Charles was a Vietnam War Veteran serving his country with The U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of The E.J. Brewer Marine Corps Detachment. Chip married his wife, Judith A. Ghrist Coleman, on August 1, 1981 and they would have celebrated their 41st Wedding Anniversary this year. He was a computer operator and was retired from BOCES in Elmira, NY. Chip loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. Charles is survived by his loving and devoted wife Judith ; daughter: Brittney D. Coleman of Hoboken , NJ; sons: Bryan D. Coleman of Horseheads, NY and Jeremiah C. Coleman of Hoboken , NJ; sisters and brothers-in-law: Julia & Bill Ackerman of Latrobe, PA and Candice Candy & Stan Hendrix of Lexington, SC ; brother and sisters-in-law: Elbert R. "Rusty" & Mimi Coleman Jr. of Melbourne, Florida , Jane Carney of Arkansas , and Joyce Stewart of Latrobe , PA ; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Monday June 20, 2022 from 1PM to 3 PM. Mr. Coleman's Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. John I. Owen officiating. Charles will be laid to rest in Gearhart Cemetery in Horseheads, NY where Full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Coleman at the convenience of the Family.
