Obituary of Barbara Dee Dailey

Barbara D. Dailey age 92 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Wednesday September 14, 2022. Barbara was born October 27, 1929 in Interlaken, NY the daughter of the late Walter and Catherine Palmer Seaman. She married Bernard M. Dailey on April 17, 1948 at St. Patrick's Church in Elmira, NY. Bernie and Barb made their family home in Horseheads, NY where Barbara still resided until the time of her passing. Their home became the beginning of The Dailey Legacy on Rockwell Avenue. Mrs. Dailey is predeceased by her husband of 68 years Bernard "Bernie" Dailey on May 13, 2016. She was also pre-deceased by her parents, sisters and brother-in-law Jean and Bill Mooha of Horseheads, NY , Phyllis McCoy of Interlaken , NY , brothers Donald Seaman and Robert Seaman both of Texas , brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Paul and Patricia Dailey of Hornell, NY, and William and Rita Wayne of Elmira, NY. Barbara and Bernie were devoted communicants of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY. She loved her family and friends dearly and treasured the time she spent with all of them. Barb especially loved watching all her children's and grandchildren's sporting events as well as being an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Syracuse Orangemen. Her favorite times were spent on the front porch, celebrating her Irish heritage with family and friends, summers on Seneca Lake , and family outings at the pool in their backyard. Barbara is survived by her beloved children and spouses along with 14 cherished grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren: Mary Kay & Graydon L. "Woody" Woodworth of Horseheads, NY with children Geoffrey (Jennifer), Bryan (Kim), Lori (Jim), Amy (Mike) , Berneice & Gregory Haskell of Chemung , NY with children Kristen, Greg (Tammy) , Barb Welliver of Elmira, NY with children Jason (Jen), Jeremy, Jeff, Richie (Nicole) , Christine & Scott Cook of Elmira , NY with children Connor and Ben and Matthew & Celeste Dailey of Mount Pleasant, S.C. with children Eva and Sydney ; and numerous great grandchildren ; sister: Donna (Steve) McIlroy Maser of Portland , OR; several nieces, nephews , cousins , and a host of special friends and neighbors. It was Mrs. Dailey's wish that there be no public calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Celebrating Barbara's Life on Monday September 19, 2022 at St. Mary Our Mother Church 816 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY at 11: 00 AM. Mrs. Dailey will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Bernie in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery in Horseheads, NY.
