Christine M. Thorborg Age 85 passed away on Monday January 9, 2023. She was born on October 19, 1937 in Valley Stream, Long Island, NY the daughter of the late Aranulf and Edna Parmon Berglie. Christine married her husband Robert C. Thorborg on June 19, 1960 and he pre-deceased her on January 3, 2010 six months before their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Christine was a talented artist who studied art at Cooper Union in NYC. She practiced her art daily through workshop, commissions for portraits and house drawings, and her real love of painting outdoors. She had the ability to find the beauty in the most ordinary things. Christine is survived by her son: Rob Thorborg of Horseheads, NY ; daughter and son-in-law: Valerie & Mark Brand of Corning, NY; grandchildren: Michael and Anne Stone of Virginia, Bobby and Grace Thorborg of Virginia, Bre and Nolan Coleman of Florida, Zach and Melissa Brand of Charleston, S.C., Josh Brand of Wisconsin, and Alex Brand with special significant other Megha of PA; great grandchildren: Gwen Stone, Leah Coleman, Landon Coleman; sister and brother-in-law: Laurie & Charles Schimmoeller of Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Saturday January 14, 2023 from 3-5 PM . Mrs. Thorborg's Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours with the Rev. Robert Briggs officiating. Christine will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Robert in Rural Home Cemetery in Big Flats, NY.
