Sylvia J. Sobkowski-Travis age 86 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Friday April 14, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 7, 1936 in Monongahela, PA the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Juresko Cilensek. Sylvia was a dedicated mother who was always supportive of her children. She belonged to The Russian Orthodox Church for many years. Sylvia was pre-deceased by her first husband Robert P. Sobkowski and also by her second husband Rodney Travis. She loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Sylvia is survived by her loving and devoted children: Cathleen and David Storch of Horseheads, NY , Michael J. and Suann Sobkowski of Matthews, NC , Thomas A. Sobkowski of Horseheads, NY , and Linda and Steven Hoover of Pine City, NY; brother and sister-in-law: Ronald and Kay Cilensek of Salem, SC ; sister: Marlene Wheet of Horseheads, NY ; several grandchildren, great grandchildren , nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Friday April 21, 2023 for 10 AM to 12 Noon followed by Sylvia's Funeral Services.
