Kenneth Allen Burket age 83 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Saturday May 6, 2023. Ken was born in Altoona, PA, and grew up the son of Methodist ministers. He attended Bald Eagle Nittany High School, Lock Haven University, as well as Cornell University where he received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. Ken married Sharon Vonda in 1962 and enjoyed 45 years of marriage prior to her passing. Ken was also a US Army Veteran, who served in Korea. Ken and family moved to Corning, NY to begin a career with Ingersoll Rand, then moved to Corning, Inc where he worked for over 33 years. Ken was an engineer working with industrial glass for customers in the US, Germany, and Scotland, and was a design patent holder for several lighting products. He enjoyed reading, music, model-building, traveling, and spending time with his three grandchildren in Florida. Preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Burket on September 2, 2007; son Kevin Burket on September 1, 2007 ; and parents, Kenneth and Marjorie Burket. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Burket Brosnahan and her husband, David, and their children, Ryan, Sean, & Erin Brosnahan; and Ken's siblings, Connie Diller; and Deana Moore and husband Jim; and several nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held at Spruce Creek United Methodist Church in Pennsylvania at 2 PM on Friday May 26, 2023. The internment will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Mill Hall, PA. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to Spruce Creek United Methodist Church, 4938 Spruce Creek Road, Spruce Creek, PA 16683. Condolences may be sent to the family at The Brosnahan Family 2380 SW 102nd Drive Davie, FL 33324. Arrangements are entrusted to the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY.
