Joan M. Hungerford age 83 of Elmira Heights , NY passed away on Tuesday July 25, 2023 at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was born July 2, 1940 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Harold and Marie Clancy Reinhart. Joan married her husband, Frank E. Hungerford, on June 24, 1961 and he pre-deceased her on April 24, 2019. She was a long-time communicant and member The Altar and Rosary Society of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Elmira Heights, NY and St. Casimir's Church in Elmira, Ny. Joan enjoyed ceramic and bird-watching especially cardinals. She loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Joan is survived by her son: Frank E. Hungerford Jr. of Elmira, NY ; daughters and sons-in-law: Sherri and Mark Erickson of Elmira Heights, NY and Tina M. and Michael Matera of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren: Brittany Miller and Brennan Hungerford; great grandson: Cameron Hungerford and Colby Hungerford ; brother: James Reinhart of Pine City, NY ; sisters -in-law: Virginia A. Ashley of Horseheads ,NY and Carol M. Brewer of Elmira, NY; brother-in-law: David H. and Kathleen Hungerford of Horseheads, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins , and a host of caring friends. Joan's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday July 31, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church Park Place and West Clinton Street in Elmira, NY .The Rev. Scott M. Kubinski will be the Celebrant of Joan's Funeral Mass. Joan will be laid to ret next to her beloved husband Frank in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY.
