Obituary of Kathleen M. Siglin

Kathleen Michelle Watson Siglin age 77 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Wednesday August 16, 2023 at her home. She was born November 18, 1945 in Montour Falls, NY the daughter of the late Leman and Evelyn Mitchell Watson and raised in Horseheads, NY. Kathy is survived by her daughter Robin Doubrava ; her granddaughter Delaney Doubrava ; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth (Mrs. Richard) Watson of Great Barrington, Massachusetts and Sandra (Mrs. Frederick) Watson of Forestport, NY ; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews , and cousins.. Kathy was blessed to have a plethora of friends including very special friends Joe and Bob Truax , Margaret and Timothy O'Brien , and Ruth Shumaker. She also leaves behind her beloved felines Tigger and Luna. Her phone and doorbell rang incessantly with texts, calls and visits from family and friends, and she welcomed it all. In addition to her parents, Kathy was pre-deceased by all her siblings who she missed dearly; sister: Sylvia Watson (Mrs. Robert) Gillis ; brothers : Richard Watson , Gerald Watson , Frederick Watson and his former wife Kay , William Watson Eleanor , and Blair Watson. Kathy graduated from Corning Community College and Keuka College with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing and worked at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center for over 38 years in various departments including Geriatrics, Clinical Heart Care , IV Therapy, and Health on Demand from which she retired in 2011. A nurse extraordinaire, Kathy combined her deep understanding of nursing practice, friendliness, and compassion providing top notch care for her patients and their families. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday September 16, 2023 at 11 AM at Scotchtown Cemetery in Erin , New York. Kathy and her wisdom , sound advice , "feistiness" , and biting sense of humor , is, and will always be sorely missed. We are comforted in knowing her "cheering section" was there waiting for her and that she is reunited with those she has so missed.
