Obituary of Richard Roy Button

Richard (Dick) Button Age 89 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Tuesday January 2, 2024 with family by his side. He was born on April 21, 1934 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Roy and Anna May Granger Button. Mr. Button was a Veteran of the Korean War serving his country proudly with the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired as a Specialty Sales Representative from Air Gas in Elmira, NY. Dick also worked as a part-time Private Investigator. Richard married his loving wife Vivian J. Burditt on July 14, 2001, and they had many years of love and shared incredible memories together, including those spent on Seneca Lake. Mr. Button was a member of the V.F.W. in Elmira Heights, and The Big Flats American Legion. He was pre-deceased by his parents, sister: Dorothy Sawyer, and good friends Joe and Peg Allen and their son Michael Allen. Mr. Button is survived by his beloved wife Vivian J. Button; children: Dan Button; Mike and Roberta Button; Jennifer and Scott Hoose; Christina Werts and Adam Peashey; Stacey and Charles Carollo; and Larry and Pam Werts; grandchildren: Hailey Hoose and fiancé Devon Shedded; Hannah Hoose Gomez and Edward Gomez; Donovan Peashey; Charles Carollo; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thank you to nephew and niece: James and Ann Marie Griffin for their unwavering support and to the staff at the Corning Center for their compassion and excellent care of Dick during his stay. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Tuesday January 9, 2024 from 4-6 PM. Full Military Honors will be accorded to Mr. Button at 6PM with his Funeral Service immediately following.
