Roberta P. "Bobbie" Hess age 82 of Big Flats, NY passed away on Sunday April 21, 2024. Bobbie was born June 2, 1941 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of the late John and Pearl West VanPelt. She married her husband, William D. "Bill" Hess on October 14, 1961 and her pre-deceased he on June 22,2022. She had worked at NYS DMV and as a teacher's aide at Hendy Avenue School in Elmira, NY. Bobbie survived by her daughters and son: Colleen and Tim Chamberlain of Pine City, NY ; Sandy and John Hoyt of Painted Post , NY ; Arnie and Raquel Hess of Elmira, NY ; Karen and Gary Kusch of Hardeeville, SC ; Natalie Henderson of Horseheads, NY ; grandchildren : Sharayah , Noelle, Christianna, Kayla , Noah and Jeremiah Chamberlain , Nick Hoyt , Kelly Hoyt , Sam , Maggie , and Emily Henderson , Avan Hess; great grandsons: Korin and Booker ; sister: Lois Setter of Arizona ; several nieces, nephews, cousins , and a host of caring friends. It was Bobbie's wish that there be no calling hours. Mrs. Hess will be laid to rest in Woodlawn National Cemetery 1825 Davis Street Elmira, NY Wednesday May 22, 2024 at 2 PM.
