Joyce C. Kenefick (nee Curley) passed away on June 15, 2024, in Horseheads, New York, at the age of 81, after an extended illness. She was born on January 28, 1943, in Utica, New York, to Arthur and Norma (O'Connor) Curley, who predeceased her.

Joyce is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, John W. Kenefick, and her seven children: Kimberly (Bruce Austic), John W. III, Kelly MacIntosh (Scott), Catherine, Jeffrey "Chip" (Susan), Christine (Mark Sanza), and Colleen Phillips (Rich). She was cherished by her 16 grandchildren: Josh; Katie Sivic (Kevin); John J. (Katie); Courtney; Lindsay Meehan (Jay); Emily Marsh (John); Sam and Matt Schuman; Cassidy and Cameron; Gabrielle and Nicholas Sanza; Patrick Matkosky, Connor, Colin and Macy Phillips and step-grandson Zach Gallese (Amber). She was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren: Jake, Emma, Maddy, Amelia, Scarlett, Johnny, CeCi, Knox, Magnolia and Baby Girl Marsh (due July 2nd). She is also survived by her loving siblings: Sharon Curley (Mary Ellen Lissow), James Curley (the late Joyce), Barbara Carparelli (Ray), and Suzanne Lehmann (John) and many nieces and nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by step-grandson Sean Phillips.

Joyce loved her Irish heritage, the Jersey Shore, the Adirondacks and Coca-Cola! But mostly she loved hosting large family gatherings and being Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a friend to many. Joyce will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on through the legacy of love and family she leaves behind.

Calling hours will be held at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME at 318 WEST BROAD STREET, Horseheads, NY on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, immediately followed by a funeral service at Lynch Funeral Home. The burial will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Utica.
