Linda and Family, I've known John for many years, I always enjoyed the times that you and John came to the OBX to get away and stayed at the beach house. Please know you are all in our prayers.

I extend my thoughts and prayers to the family of John.
He was a fellow Scoutmaster with an infectious smile. He helped many Scouts along the way to make a better world for all.
He will never be forgotten by his Scouts and fellow Scouters.
May God's promise, comfort you during this difficult time.

I am sorry to hear of John's passing. He not only served his country but God as well. He made the world a better place by guiding young men in Scouting. I am thankful he was my son's Scout Master with troop 84. May he rest in peace and his family be comforted that he is in a better world where they will meet again. Thank you John.

RIP Jack ! God Bless you my friend! I met Jack ( John ) decades ago while working at the old Cart -n- Bag that was in Diven Plaza! WE were friends for years afterwards! I always came to the ice cream store just to see him! There are few people in our lives that are great people and a friend as well! Friends like me always knew him as Jack! Miss you my friend! God Bless, Mark C. Zawko

I'm so thankful that Mr. Bernas was my scoutmaster and helped me to grow and become an Eagle Scout. He helped so many boys like myself and for that I'll be forever grateful.
